Super Easy Date Syrup!

Date syrup is a delicious thick carmel tasting sauce that makes a great substitute for sweetness in baking and cooking. This syrup is very easy to make at home and completely affordable, especially when using pitted dates. The best part is that you only need 3 ingredients to make this delicious treat.
Dates are super healthy and are a great source of energy, healthy sugars, fibre and have many essential minerals such as calcium, iron, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, magnesium, and zinc. They also have great vitamins like thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folate, vitamin A, and vitamin K.
So with out further adieu, here is this easy recipe for you to make at home!
Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
½ cup pitted dates (soaked in ½ cup of boiling water for about 10 minutes)
½ teaspoons of ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon of vanilla bean powder/vanilla extract
Directions
Drain half the water from the dates.
Place the dates, remaining water, cinnamon and vanilla into a high power blender and blend until smooth. You may need to add a little more water to make sure you get the right consistency.
Place in a jar and store in the fridge for up to 10 days.
