Basil and Tomato Bruschetta

Hello and welcome to Health Alignment. I am so excited to share this simple, quick and easy Basil and Tomato Bruschetta which makes for a great starter or snack. It's so cost effective to make and requires no fancy ingredients. You can literally throw this whole dish together in under 10 minutes. Kids will love it as well so it's a perfect snack to make for them when they are feeling like a nibble.

All you will need is:

  • Bread Knife

  • Toaster

  • A bowl you can mix in

  • Teaspoon and tablespoon


  • 1 Cup of tomatoes

  • ½ Onion finely chopped.

  • 1 Teaspoon of crushed garlic

  • 2 Tablespoons of fresh basil or 1 tablespoon of dried basil

  • 3 Tablespoons of balsamic vinegar

  • 1 Tablespoon of olive oil (optional)

  • 1 Crusty French Baguette or Ciabatta loaf


  1. Roughly chop the tomatoes and gently mix in the onion, garlic and basil.

  2. Add the balsamic vinegar and olive oil.

  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Allow the tomatoes to soak in all the spices and the balsamic for about 5 minutes while you start with your bread.

  5. Slice your bread diagonally and lightly toast.

  6. Top off the toast while its still warm with the tomatoes and serve.
