Moist Chocolate Cake

Hello and thank you so much for visiting Health Alignment. This is my go to chocolate cake recipe as its so simple, quick to make and I do believe that it is flop proof. This cake is rich, moist and makes for a great birthday cake. This perfect chocolate cake really is just so fantastic and delicious you wont regret making it! This cake has no complicated steps just follow the simple steps and you will be so delighted with the out come.

You are going to need:

  • A cake tin

  • Mixing bowls

  • Mixing spoon

  • Measuring cups and spoons

  • Oven

  • Time: 1 Hour

Ingredients:

  • 1 and 1/2 cups of all purpose flour (I used stoneground cake flour)

  • 1/2 cup of cocoa powder

  • 1 cup of castor sugar or sugar of your choice such as coconut or xylitol

  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • pinch of salt

  • 1/3 cup oil of your choice

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence

  • 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar

  • 250ml of water or plant based milk

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and oil your cake tin.

  2. Sieve all your dry ingredients into your mixing bowl and mix until well combined.

  3. Add the wet ingredients into the mixing bowl and mix well until everything is smooth.

  4. Pour the mixture into the cake tin and bake for 35 to 45 minutes. Pierce with a knife to test if the cake is ready, if the knife comes out clean then remove the cake from the oven and allow to cool before removing from the cake tin. Sprinkle with some icing sugar or make a vegan buttercream icing and enjoy :)
