Chocolate Banana Bread


Choc banana bread 🍌🍌🍌This is such a great treat and I wanted to make sure I got the recipe out for the weekend! You will need about 1 hour and 10 minutes


Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • Pinch of salt

  • A handful of crushed walnuts (and more for topping)

  • 1 Slab Vegan Dark chocolate broken into pieces( I used Lindt 70% and up)

  • 3/4 cup sugar


Wet Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup coconut oil (melted)

  • 1 and 1/2 cups ripe mashed bananas (about 5 medium)

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence


Directions:


  1. Preheat oven to 180°C.

  2. In your mixing bowl, mix together all the dry ingredients except for the sugar.

  3. In a separate mixing bowl, add in all your wet ingredients including the sugar and mix until well combined.

  4. Combine the two mixtures and pour into your well-oiled baking tin.

  5. Place in the oven to bake for about 1 hour and 10-20 minutes but you can start checking if it is ready from about 1 hour by just sliding a knife in to see if it comes out clean.

  6. Once the bread has cooked, allow to cool and remove from tin.

  7. Drizzle with some homemade vegan chocolate sauce and some more crushed walnuts and enjoy!
