Oat Flapjacks

These are one of my favorite breakfasts.

All you need:

  • Mixing bowl

  • Non-stick pan

  • Measuring cups and spoons

  • Time 20 minutes

  • Makes 3-6 Flapjacks depending on your size.


  • 1 cup oats ground

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • Pinch salt

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 1/2 of cup water

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Chocolate sauce:

  • 3 teaspoons of cocoa powder

  • 4 teaspoons of sweetener such as maple syrup, agave, vegan honey, etc.


  1. Blend your oats until fine.

  2. Add in the rest of your dry ingredients.

  3. Add in the wet ingredients.

  4. Heat your non-stick pan ( otherwise use a dash of oil) on a medium to high heat to start with.

  5. Place a good scoop of the batter into your frying pan. Cook until bubbles come through and start to pop. Flip and cook for a further minute or two. You may need to lower your heat down to medium as you continue to cook.

  6. Mix together the ingredients for your chocolate sauce in your mixing bowl. Mix until it becomes smooth and shiny

  7. Stack your flapjacks and top with all your favorite toppings; peanut butter, seeds, granola, coconut
