Lentil Dhal


Hello and welcome to Health Alignment. Thank you so much for visiting my site today. I love quick and easy one pot meals and this Lentil Dhal is one of my all time favourites. It's full of flavour with a delicious mild spicy taste. This dish is creamy and warm and makes for the perfect winter lunch or dinner.

This lentil dhal is wholesome and filling while being packed with protein from the lentils.

This meal is gluten free and can be oil free as well.

For this recipe you are going to need:

  • Pan

  • Measuring cup and spoon

  • Wooden spoon

  • 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 Heaped teaspoon of curry paste of your choice

  • 1 Onion roughly sliced

  • 1 Heaped teaspoon of garlic

  • 2 Tins of lentils well drained or 2 cups of cooked lentils

  • 1 Tin of coconut cream

  • 1 Teaspoon of vegetable stock

  • 1/4 Cup of boiling water

Directions:

  1. Sauté the chopped onion in a little bit of hot water or oil until onions are soft and water as evaporated.

  2. Add the curry paste and cook for a further minute.

  3. Add the garlic and fry for 30 seconds.

  4. Add the lentils and mix well.

  5. Add the 1/4 cup of boiling water and vegetable stock.

  6. Continue cooking for about 2 minutes and then add the coconut cream.

  7. Simmer for 5-10 Minutes and serve with cauliflower rice or brown rice.
